The past few years have seen the travel industry transforming
with a strong focus on technology to drive future business processes
and partnerships. Tourvest Inbound Operations identified this
change in market conditions early on and today it is perfectly
positioned to offer its customers a selection of applications
that enable customers to connect to our systems for B2B (Business
to Business) transactions.
The newly redeveloped online reservations system called TIO
Connect is a B2B system, which is accessible via the Tourvest
Inbound Operations brand websites. The new system is entirely
browser based and does not require any additional software to
be installed on the user’s computer.
The system is password protected and allows only registered
travel trade users access to the Tourvest Inbound Operations
Computer Reservations System through a fully integrated system.
Once logged on to the system, users use the dynamic packaging
tool to perform product searches, check availability and book
customised itineraries which are confirmed immediately.
The system provides users with more than 1200 room types in
800 accommodation establishments, as well as Tourvest Inbound
Operations Scheduled Escorted Tours, totaling more than 200
fixed departures per week, vehicle rental and transfers. International
demand for B2B travel solutions is high with only a handful
of operators offering suitable solutions, compared to overseas
markets where similar systems are commonplace.
Implementation of the system will markedly improve reservation
turnaround times, thus optimising our clients’ consumer
retention and increasing reservation volumes. The system is
offered free of charge to users, and all users are supplied
with a complete user manual. Tourvest Inbound Operations also
offers volume clients the opportunity to connect with
their reservations system through a Host 2 Host connection,
using an XML interface.
The interface allows for seamless integration between the TIO
reservations system and customers’ reservations systems

System Access
Access to the system is limited to travel trade companies and
professionals only and all users must first obtain a user name
and password through a registration process before access is
granted. Once registered, a master user is assigned within each
registered company, to create and maintain individual user logins.
This allows each registered company full control over who is
granted access to the system and decreases any security risks
for both parties. To register for the system, please complete
the online registration form on the Tourvest Inbound Operations
website, Trade section.

Product Search
Once logged into the system the user can search through our
range of products and services on offer.
These are classified into different categories:
- Accommodation
- Vehicle Rental
- Scheduled Escorted Tours
- Transfers
Simply select the required product or service category and use
the search filters to find the product you require.

Live Availability
The online reservation system is directly integrated with our
central reservations system, which means that it extracts availability,
tariffs and other information for a product or service directly
from our central reservations system, when requested.
All allocations are stored on the central reservations system
for access by online users and our reservations staff. Therefore
clients that do not wish to utilise the online reservations
system still have access to our allocations through their dedicated
reser-vations consultant.

Online Reservations
Once the user has entered their search criteria they will be
shown the search results, with the detailed information for
each service, such as room type, minimum nights, stay restrictions,
total cost and availability. Provided the product or service
displays the necessary availability, the user can then continue
to book the service.
The booking process allows the user to select the desired room
type, number of nights or quantity and for the user to insert
any special notes or requests that need to be brought to the
attention of the supplier. This process can be repeated until
an entire tailor-made itinerary has been built using a variety
of different services.
Services that do not have the desired availability can still
be added to a reservation, however such services will be placed
on request and will manually be requested with the establishment
or service provider in question by our reservations department.
After inserting all the required services into the reservation,
the user can then proceed to finalise the reservation, by printing
a full confirmation of all the services booked, and start a
new reservation. The system keeps a record of each consultant’s
reservations made online and all reservations previously made
can be recalled in order to add additional services or to check
on updated service status.
